| Saales was imported from France in July of 2001. Patricia Princehouse helped with everything from flights to communicating with Chantal, the breeder. We picked Saales based on her intelligence and zest for life. Also she was the runt of the litter and I was hoping for a puppy that would jump 16" in USDAA as well as NADAC. When Saales arrived in Ohio Patricia's vet detected a heart murmur and Patricia offered me a way out of the deal. Since I had already heard a lot about her temperament and size I opted to have carried on to Montana by my nephew who was coming to visit. My vet, Sue Geske, confirmed the heart murmur and I once again chose to keep her and fix the problem. Surgery in Fort Collins fixed her pulmonic stenosis and Saales hasn't stopped since. She has competed in Flyball, agility and herding. Not only is she fast, but she is consistent (except in the herding). Her drive is incredible and she'll train till I drop. In private Saales likes to work for a tennis ball, but in a public situation she prefers food. At home she often prefers the kids to me and seeks out boys who know she likes to play fetch. At an agility trial in January, 2003 she qualified most of the time, but was distracted by kids playing in the snow outside. |
